SENSEI BOB CUNHA
YONDAN – (4th Degree Black Belt)
Sensei Bob started his martial arts training in June, 1982 and in February, 1987 he received his Black Belt. In May, 1993 he received his second degree Black Belt and title of Sensei and in June, 1997 he was awarded his 4th Degree Black Belt (Yondan).
He has spent over thirty years training in the martial arts and was Shihan’s Lima’s second student ever promoted to Black Belt in Shihan Lima’s first karate school in Lowell, Massachusetts. After attending college he fulfilled his dream of becoming a police officer. He spent the next twenty five years serving area communities as a police officer. During his law enforcement career Sensei Bob served as a Defensive Tactics Instructor, training law enforcement officers in the use of the PR-24 and Baton in order to assist them in defending themselves during the execution of their duties. After a twenty five year distinguished career he retired a Captain from the Manchester, New Hampshire police department with honors. After retiring from the Manchester Police Department Sensei Bob returned to Al Lima’s Studio Of Self-Defense to continue his martial arts training. He has participated in numerous seminars, demonstrations and tournaments and is an integral part of the inner workings of the school; serving it and its students in many capacities.
With over thirty years of martial arts experience and twenty five years of police experience, Sensei Bob brings a unique perspective of the martial arts to Al Lima’s Studio Of Self-Defense. His dedication and commitment is one of the reasons for the continued growth and success of Al Lima’s Studio Of Self-Defense. You can find Sensei Bob teaching or taking classes throughout the week.
